Despite there still being a whole week left of September, Sony has already announced their plans for next month’s PS Plus lineup, but unfortunately it looks like players will have to stay patient as the usual lineup schedule has been adjusted for October. As always, there will still be 2 new games added to each participating console, which includes the PlayStation 4, the PlayStation 3 and the PS Vita, but the release of these games has been bumped up a week.
Whilst Sony has not yet revealed which games will be available next month, it has been mentioned that the next PS Plus game lineup will be announced “on or around” October 1st, and the games will actually go live on October 8th.
I can imagine the delay for the October PS Plus lineup is due to the release of DriveClub, a game that PS Plus subscribers will be able to play for free, although with certain restrictions.
For example, although the full DriveClub game will cost players, PS Plus subscribers can experience a portion of the game for free, and will get access to 10 free cars. The 10 free cars for DriveClub have been listed as the Mini John Cooper Works GP, Volkswagen Golf GTI, Bentley Continental GT, Speed V8, Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG, Maserati Gran Turismo MC Stradale, BMW M3 GTS, BAC Mono, Audi R8 V10 Plus, RUF CTR3 Clubsport and the Pagani Zonda R.
Even though DriveClub is a new free game for those with a PlayStation+ subscription, it will not count as part of the PS Plus Lineup, and 6 more games will still be announced for October.
For those unaware, DriveClub’s release date is set for the 7th, 8th and 10th of October for North America, Europe and the United Kingdom respectively. The price of the game has been set for $59.99/£49.99.
