Nosulus Rift: Ubisoft Has Developed a New Immersive Device In True South Park Fashion

Ubisoft has just announced their latest technological project to the world, the Nosulus Rift, which could almost be called a Virtual Reality parody device and it certainly fits the only game it works with.

The Nosulus Rift will work exclusively with South Park: The Fractured But Whole and allows players to experience the game in a different way; this device allows the wearers to smell the farts that will be in the upcoming South Park RPG.

While it sounds like a joke at first, the device is real and the Nosulus Rift will be staring at Gamescom 2016 and intrigued users will be able to test out the new technology at the Ubisoft stall. Anyone interested in trying the potentially vomit-inducing piece of technology will be able to do so from August 17th to the 21st.

Anyone who’s played the first game or has seen the trailers for the upcoming game knows that farting is a legitimate super power in the South Park game world; Ubisoft has promised to deliver new twists on this and at E3 the company revealed that players would have “total ass control” that would even allow them to poop. The developers hope is to confuse and shock players so that they are left wondering how the game actually made it through classification.

South Park: The Stick of Truth contained quite a few scenes that were banned in some countries and fans can expect to see the same level of chaos, if not more, regarding the next game in the series. The game was heavily criticized for some of it’s content and for it’s handing of ‘difficult’ issues such as abortions and Nazis. When some scenes had to be removed from the game, the developers left placeholders in their wake which mocked censorship.

Ubisoft’s Nosulus Rift will be available for testing at Gamescom and the developer has not commented on what it will be doing with the device; it currently looks as though this is purely for advertising the game.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole will be released this December for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
