It’s been known for a while now that Ultimate Evil Edition, the new gen version of Diablo 3, will offer players the ability to transfer their saves from their old gen consoles onto the new version of the game. However, players were unaware about the technicalities of which consoles can be ported to and from until now.
On a new blog post at battle.net, Blizzard has revealed that players will be able to transfer their save progress from either the Xbox 360 or the PlayStation 3, to both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but not vice versa.
Players will be able to transfer their Diablo 3 saves cross platform, and despite previous rumors, this means players will be able to move their Xbox 360 saves to the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, and PS3 players will be able to move their saves to both new gen consoles as well. Players are also capable of moving their save games to another unit of the same console. (IE PS3 to PS3 transfer, or Xbox 360 to Xbox 360)
In other news, Blizzard also announced that Diablo 3 has managed to reach 20 million units sold this month. The 20 million Diablo 3 sales include the original PC and Mac version, as well as the Reaper of Souls version for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Diablo 3 took off to quite a rocky start, but since then, Blizzard have kept with the game to keep it fresh with new content, and thanks to this, it has flourished in sales worldwide. It will be interesting to see just how many more Diablo 3 games are sold once the Ultimate Evil Edition has been released.
Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition has been set for a release later this month on August 19th, and it will be available for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. The Ultimate Evil Edition will cost $59.99 on the PS4 and Xbox One, and $39.99 on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
