It’s been rumored for a while now, and although at this point nothing has been confirmed, more rumors keep coming in, suggesting that a Beyond Two Souls PS4 version could be in the works.
According to a French video game website, the Beyond Two Souls PS4 version will be dubbed as a “director’s cut” and will come with a range of previously removed content and some edits to content already in the game.
Whilst the source of this information isn’t entirely reliable at this point, it could be very possible that a Beyond Two Souls PS4 version is currently being developed, especially considering both the Last of Us and Tomb Raider have been ported over to the PlayStation 4.
Beyond Two Souls managed to sell over 1 million copies, which is fairly impressive considering the title is a PlayStation exclusive, so it would be understandable why Sony may consider releasing the game for PlayStation 4. Beyond Two Souls was also released fairly close to the announcement of the PlayStation 4 so a revised PS4 version would allow a decent chunk of players to experience the game for the first time.
Before you take our word for it though, we should wait to see how Quantic Dream, the developers of Beyond Two Souls react to these rumors. So far, we haven’t heard anything from QD, but if a Beyond Two Souls PS4 version is being worked on, we are bound to hear something about it soon.
Other than the added director’s cut scenes, we’re not quite sure how the Beyond Two Souls PS4 version could be improved over the original. The Last of Us received an HD makeover, so perhaps Beyond Two Souls could get the same treatment. The PlayStation 4 would certainly be capable of handling a more refined version of Beyond Two Souls, it just depends on whether Quantic Dream are willing to put the effort in or not.
