Agent Locke Confirmed as Playable Character in Halo 5

If you’re curious to learn more about Halo 5 Guardians then read on, we have some very interesting information about what we can expect from the campaign of the game, as well as how the other Halo experiences will tie into it.

Perhaps the most interesting new piece of information to learn about is that Halo 5: Guardians will have a playable character by the name of Agent Locke, and in fact, many reports are suggesting that Agent Locke will play a huge part in the story of Halo 5.

In an interview with OXM, Bonnie Ross, the studio head for 343 industries, revealed some details on Agent Locke and how he will be tied into the Halo experience.

Ross explained that Halo Nightfall, the planned upcoming live action series, will create and portray an origin story for Agent Locke, and players will be able to use this to get a good understand of who the character is.

“In Halo: Nightfall, we will be telling Agent Locke’s sort-of origin story, I guess. he plays a pivotal role in Halo 5: Guardians. You’re also going to see, at Comic-Con, new ways to view and experience linear content on Xbox One and how that impacts your experience with The Master Chief Collection.”

When asked about how far 343 will go with placing Locke into the story of Halo 5, Ross explained that, “We have a tendency to kill all of our supporting characters, so there is only the Master Chief. So with our fiction, we’re giving ourselves a deeper palette of characters we pull from. Master Chief is a hero, but we want to give him a supporting cast.”

As a big Halo fan, I must admit I had been slightly disappointed with the release of Halo 4, but I hope that 343 will be able to pull it back with Halo 5: Guardians. The game is set for release next year, and owners of the Master Chief Collection will be given access to the multiplayer beta.
